The Kelvin High School Clippers football team is 85 years young this season, and the school is preparing to celebrate during its annual homecoming game.
The game takes place Friday, Oct. 6, 4:30 p.m., with the Clippers facing the Crocus Plains Plainsmen in Winnipeg High School Football League action. The school will display Clipper mementoes and other pieces of Clipper history to mark the occasion.
Kelvin was instrumental in the formation of the WHSFL many years ago. Since its inception, the Kelvin football program has served as a stepping-stone for players to continue to higher levels of the game, as well as bringing players of many different backgrounds and abilities together to learn the facets of football.
