COVID 19 PREVENTION STRATEGIES FOR CONTRACTORS ON WINNIPEG SCHOOL DIVISION PROPERTY
Winnipeg School Division has procedures in place to help reduce our exposure to bacteria or viruses that can cause illness, such as Influenza and Corona Virus (COVID-19) to our staff and visitors and to slow the spread of COVID-19, including procedures to ensure surfaces are cleaned, sanitized and disinfected to reduce the potential of transmission.
Here is a list of items for you to follow when entering or working on WSD property. All recommendations are based on the key messages from the Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in response to slowing the spread of COVID-19:
Do not enter if you:
Practice Physical Distancing – minimizing prolonged (10 minute threshold) close contact (within two Metres) with other individuals;
- Are sick and exhibiting symptoms.
- Have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or awaiting results.
- Have travelled internationally or domestically in the past 14 days.
Reduce large group/crowded activities to less than 50 people;
Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds often and throughout the day;
Follow good respiratory etiquette by covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or the crease of your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces and tools.
Avoid physical contact, shaking of hands and avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth.
Winnipeg School Division requires your full cooperation and expects that you have an established plan and procedure within your own organization. This situation is evolving, and we will adapt to government recommendations as they are released.For more information, please contact:
