WSD Wi-fi BYOD Acceptable Use Policy

Users of the division's wireless service are bound by the principles of the Winnipeg School Division's APPROPRIATE USE OF COMMUNICATION DEVICES AND ONLINE INFORMATION RESOURCES policy. Connecting to the wireless network implies that the user has agreed to these terms and conditions.

The Winnipeg School Division (WSD) is not responsible for data transmitted or for loss of information over the wireless network. Users should be aware that third parties may be able to obtain information about users' activities when using the wireless service. WSD assumes no responsibility for the security and privacy of on-line transactions.

The wireless service will support devices that use 802.11g, N or AC protocol.

Wireless users are responsible for the protection of their devices from viruses, spyware and spam.

WSD is not responsible for any financial or data loss in the unlikely event that the device is lost, stolen or damaged.

WSD will provide passkeys where necessary to connect to the wireless network, but users are responsible for the configuration of their own equipment.

WSD reserves the right to deny or restrict access to any user who abuses the network. Such as excessive bandwidth consumption, using the network for any type of activity or purpose deemed to be unlawful, harrasing, abusive, criminal or fraudulent.

Printing is not provided on the wireless network.
