Winnipeg School Divison's ESD action plan was very alive and vibrant all before the first bell rang.
Over 205 cyclists stopped by École Laura Secord School greeted with songs, welcoming chants and given a smoothie cup made by the Green Action Centre Bike Blender, with donated fruit from Verde Juice Bar.
The pit stop began at 6:30 a.m. and concluded when
Mayor Brian Bowman stopped by at 9:00 a.m for his smoothie and to
collect more tips on how to ride safely.
Each cyclist was offered baked goods from Jonnie's Sticky Buns, Tall Grass Prairie and Sleepy Owl bakery. Every 15 minutes a cyclist was awarded a prize from one of the many local businesses.
The event was organized by the staff and students of the school, and welcomed many community volunteers.
