Hard-working school patrols across WSD are celebrating the end of their 2017-2018 "tour of duty" with wind up celebrations—and for some teams, awards to mark outstanding service to the community.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service observe and select the award-winning schools based on their performance while on duty throughout the school year.
Here are this year's winning school patrol teams for WSD and citywide:
South: École LaVérendrye School *also captured first place citywide.
Inner City: Fort Rouge School
Central: École Laura Secord
North: École Stanley Knowles School
In addition, Norquay School student Hamdah Askar was presented with the Louise Staples Nomination Award for the most efficient patrol captain.

WPS presented Hamdah and LaVérendrye with their awards at a special ceremony on May 31 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
Congratulations to all of our students who served as school patrols this year! Thank you for helping to make our communities a safer place for all.
