Over 200 Winnipeg School Division
employees celebrated major service milestones on June 9 at the 60th annual Long
Service and Retirement Reception.
The event, which was held at Canad
Inns Polo Park, saw 129 retiring employees and 75 employees reaching 25 years
of service. Three employees--Elizabeth Kozoriz, Gary Sova and the late Debra
Glennie (who was represented at the ceremony by her family)—were honoured for
reaching their 40 years of service milestones.
“Whether as a teacher,
administrator, clerk, educational assistant, custodian, clinician or member of
the Building Department, you all have contributed to the excellent reputation
that the Winnipeg School Division has earned over the past 146 years,” said WSD
Board Chair Sherri Rollins. “The commitment you have made to education is to be commended. Know that you have made a difference for the many children in the Winnipeg School Division. You continue to be role models for new staff and they can learn much from you.”
