April 2, 2024

Welcome to Room 34!

Grades 1 - 6 2023 School Supply List.pdf

As we welcome the warmer spring weather, we also witness our students blooming and growing just like flowers in a garden continuing to flourish in their learning journey.

This month of April, Room 34 will continue with the morning literacy block. This will include daily reading practice using technology and exploring high-interest books. Students will also engage in word studies to improve spelling skills and daily writing to enhance their writing abilities using various reading and writing strategies. In the afternoons, students will participate in daily numeracy groups. This will involve more practice on multiplication, fractions, decimals, percentages, data analysis, and graphing to strengthen their mathematical skills.

We are excited to dig into the weather unit in science and learn more about Indigenous studies and the fur trade in social studies in the coming weeks. We are proud to continue our Kindness Project and are looking forward to an upcoming field trip where students will have the opportunity to collaborate with another class.

We are thrilled about becoming a Roots & Shoots school. The program is 'Inquiry-based' and aligns closely with the curriculum. Additionally, we will carry out a project that will benefit our animal community, human community, or our environment. We want to express our sincere gratitude to all families for their continued support and partnership. Together, we can create a nurturing and enriching environment for our students to thrive.
