The Province of Manitoba is building a new school in Winnipeg School Division at the southeast corner of Jefferson and King Edward. The school is expected to be open by September 2020.
In 2020, Winnipeg School Division is anticipating opening of the new Waterford Green/Castlebury Meadows school – a Nursery to Grade 8 school for English and Kindergarten to Grade 8 for French. REGISTRATION AT THE NEW SCHOOL IS NOT YET AVAILABLE - PLEASE CHECK BACK IN 2019.
Up until then, you can register your children at the schools listed below.
Effective September 2018
|N-6 Prairie Rose||K-6 Garden Grove|
|7-8 Stanley Knowles||7-8 Stanley Knowles|
|N-6 Tyndall Park||K-6 Garden Grove|
|7-8 Meadows West||7-8 Stanley Knowles|
Once you are permanently residing in your new home, transportation will be arranged for those students in Nursery to Grade 6, living more than 1.6 kilometers from their designated school. Castlebury Meadows and Waterford Green resident students who have registered in one of the four area schools prior to May 1, 2018 may continue at that school until the new school is ready for occupancy in 2020, or move to their newly assigned temporary home school.
Winnipeg School Division is pleased to welcome families moving into the new Castlebury Meadows and Waterford Green developments. We are committed to working together with your family to inspire your child, reach goals and achieve academic success.
We look forward to welcoming you to the community and school your child or children will be attending.
Transportation service is provided in accordance with the Public Schools Act (Sections 43-47), Manitoba Regulation No. 465/88R and WSD Policy EEA – Transportation of Pupils. Within these guidelines, every effort is made to improve transportation efficiency by clustering students to bus stops and by providing service on major streets.
If your child is enrolled in a Specialized Low Enrolment Program, transportation will be provided. Inclusion Support Services arranges transportation for students along with any specific needs required.
All initial requests for transportation services should be directed to the student’s school.
All subsequent enquiries regarding scheduling and operations should be referred to WSD’s transportation department at 204-789-0452.
