Professional Support Services

Winnipeg School Division provides specialist teachers to support the instructional staff both in programs and professional development.
The Professional Support Services personnel:
- organize, coordinate and monitor divisional programs;
- assess system needs related to programs within the specific area assigned and make recommendations to the superintendent's department;
- provide support to the principals and the instructional staff for development and improvement of instructional programs;
- organize school-based inservice sessions;
- review educational materials and programs relevant to the specific area assigned;
- act as a liaison with outside groups including Manitoba Education, Citizenship and Youth;
- facilitate communication and articulation between schools.
