The project will provide students the opportunity and experience to learn from professional musicians in the field of instrumental music. Local artists will be invited to run clinics for students, designed according to the students' levels and needs. WSO: Musical Discoveries and Adventures in Music 
Students will be introduced to the world of symphonic music. Musical Discoveries and Adventures in Music are both study guides that are curriculum-based. This project will provide opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to be exposed in the culture of the performing arts. Residency Funding for this project will support a 5-day Residency by the Aboriginal School of Dance. Students will focus on learning Indigenous Dance, experience Indigenous traditions, and will develop an appreciation for traditional music forms. This project will be an opportunity to enrich learning and celebrate diversity at Gordon Bell High School. Students are invited to share their culture through art, dance, music, dress and regalia. Drum Mentorship Program
This project provides students the opportunity to meet weekly and build drums, under the guidance of a drum-maker. Students will learn the Indigenous perspectives, the protocols for feasting and welcoming of the drums to school. A community elder will teach the significance in the Indigenous culture, and students will then have the opportunity to mentor others in their community. Human Rights Educaton
This project will provide students opportunities to explore different areas of human rights and social justice issues. Grade 9 Students will tour the CMHR with topic specific programming that will include the Holocaust, Residential Schools and the Rwandan Genocide. Grade 7 students who participate in the Indigenous Studies class, will learn about water scarcity on reserves, presented by a Knowledge Keeper. The project will provide students the opportunity to experience and learn about Northern Canada through the traditional Indigenous Art form of Soapstone Carving. Funding for this project will support students' learning, acknowledgement, and the celebration of Indigenous People and Culture. Students will have the opportunity to participate in experiential learning, by the teachings of a Knowledge Keeper, on harvesting Birch Bark. Students will have the opportunity to share with their family the teachings and knowledge they have gained from the outdoor experience. This project will help promote the acquisition of French Language and culture through hands-on experiences. Students in both French Immersion and English programs will participate in two sessions during the course of the school year.
