November Message

 Upcoming lockdown practices

Here we are in the early part of November looking back at the start to a terrific school year, and looking forward to the next few months with anticipation.

The school year got off to a smooth start, with students and staff quickly establishing routines and getting down to the business of school. Our extra-curricular activities got started within the first couple of weeks as well  and saw great results in cross-country especially our senior boys who finished as runners up in the their category securing a banner for the school. Well done. The building is a buzz with activity morning, noon and night with teams trying to get the necessary practice time in for their seasons.

The numbers of students and staff involved in extra-curricular activities rivals any other school in the division. A big thank you not only to staff who coach teams, but to parents and staff as well who help with getting kids to and from events safely.

As the weather gets colder we strongly encourage our students to dress appropriately for the weather. Winnipeg weather can be unpredictable at the best of times.

Our first reporting period will see report cards issued on December 6th. We strongly encourage parents to take the time to go over the report cards with your children and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to call us at the school. Student led conferences will take place on December 12th  from 1:00 to 4:00 and from 5:00 to 7:30 .

With the holiday season quickly moving up the calendar, don’t forget the events that come with it. Our winter concert is scheduled for December 17th at Sisler High school in the evening. Our Performance Arts department are working hard to put together a terrific show. The last day of classes are scheduled for December 20th.

On behalf of Ms. Siddall and myself, we wish you a happy holiday season and a terrific new year.

WELCOME

I would like to welcome everyone back for a new school year. To our new grade 7 students, embrace the opportunity to experience middle school and the variety of activities that are offered at Andrew Mynarski VC . Returning grade 8 and 9 students, act as ambassadors to those new to our school, including students, Staff and Administrators.

Students who succeed in school can be identified by their ability to organize their school life. This well constructed agenda book is a tool that will help you all do well.

I was told as a young student, if there was something I didn’t understand, ask questions.  Learning will take place when the student understands the concepts and teachers will be more effective when they know when students need extra help to understand.

I am proud to have been selected as your new Principal. I embrace the opportunity to lead a great staff and students through the coming year to reach our school goals.

I wish you all the best of luck in your studies and look forward to an exciting year at Andrew Mynarski VC.

G. Bouchard
