Grade 9 - High School Credit System
Grade 9 is the first grade of the four-grade high school program credit system. A credit is a course of study undertaken in approximately 12% of a student’s time (i.e. 110 credit hours) and earned through successful completion of each individual course (minimum mark of 50%). Similarly, a ½ credit is a course of study undertaken in approximately 6% (55 hours) of a student’s time. At Cecil Rhodes School, Grade 9 students are required to take the equivalent of eight (8.0) credits towards their high school diploma.
