Cafe Clifton

On May 6, Café Clifton was again serving customers! This year, our theme was the voyageurs and guests chose between pea or onion soup, tortière with pork and beef or beef alone, and dried fruit or maple sugar tarts for dessert. Grade 5 students served the Grade 6 students at 9:30 and then the Grade 5 students had their chance to dine at 11:00. The Grade 4 class provided the entertainment by putting on a play where Rikka played a voyageur who had lost his way while traveling to the Festival du Voyageur. We capped off the wonderful event with four dancers from the Norman Chief Dancers, who demonstrated and taught the whole school various Métis Square Dances like the Red River Jig. Thank you to Kaela, Shae-Lynn, Jessica and Kailee. You were awesome. Everyone had a fantastic time and learned about our Franco Manitoban and Métis culture and cuisine. Merci Mme Bodner for arranging this exciting experience!
