had been following the Sochi Olympics. The Canadian women’s hockey and curling
teams had won gold medals the previous day and the Canadian men’s curling team had won gold. Canada had just qualified
for the gold medal game in hockey. Olympic stations (Straw Javelin Throw,
Bottle Cap Snap, Paper on Straw Run, Eyedropper Exchange, Dried Bean Blow, Standing
Long Step, Cottonball Put and Discus Plate Throw) were set up in the classroom,
hallway and lunchroom. Students
estimated and recorded their estimation of distance, completed the event, and
measured and recorded the actual distance.
