DIGITAL FILMMAKING/BROADCAST MEDIA 20S/30S | DFHR2S/BMHR3S -
This course is an introduction to video production
techniques, using digital video cameras and Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and
After Effects. Each student will write, produce, direct, shoot, and edit a
series of short films. Emphasis will be placed on basic storytelling and the
creative process. The course will provide an introduction to basic equipment
and operating techniques of video production. Students will gain hands-on experience
of the entire video production process from scripting, filming, lighting
and sound through to editing and post-production procedures.
GRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY 20G | GRAR2G - 1 CREDIT
Students will learn to communicate their ideas using
professional graphics software. Skills are developed and refined in areas which
include: advertising art, vector illustration, raster (bitmap) editing, vinyl
printing to T-shirts, packaging and design principles. Students will also learn
the basics of good photo composition using digital cameras. Digital movie
creation and editing using iMovie will also be covered. Students interested in
design as well as those planning a career in architecture, interior design,
engineering, graphic arts and fine arts are encouraged to enroll in this
GRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY 30G | GRAR3G - 1 CREDIT
In this course students will dive deep into the wonderful
world of Photoshop and experience some of the incredible things it can do.
Everything from works of art to trick photography to making simple masterpieces
such as one of a kind holiday cards using photo manipulation. Students will be
re-introduced to the vinyl cutter and will have the opportunity to design
inspirational quotes that will go up on the walls of the class room. They may
also use the vinyl to create such things as mobile phone cases, designs for
walls in their home, and anything else they desire. This course is a blend of
digital art with practical hands-on experience.
GRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY 40S | GRAR4S - 1 CREDIT
In this course students will be exposed to some of the most
advanced features in Photoshop to prepare them for a career in graphic design.
Students will have some experience working on the school yearbook as well as
creating a high-end video using professional software. Students will also be
working in teams to do school promo work, such as poster design, logo
manipulation and fulfilling other school needs. This course is designed for
students who are curious about a career in graphic design and want to
experience a wide variety of design techniques.
