Welcome to Room 10!
Room 10 is a welcoming, caring and safe environment for students to learn and explore. As a group we will accomplish a lot this year, by working together and by following our classroom rule. As part of our classroom the students in room 10 have created these rules to help themselves become life long learners.
Room 10 Classroom Rules

Throughout this school year room 10 will be exploring Canada, lights, sounds, and so much more. Here is a sneek peek of our exciting year to come.
Throughout the school year we will be focusing on our reading and writing skills through a number of different assignments and lessons. (These will include a how to book, a personal memoir and writing using voice, along with many others.)
· September to October we will be studying the Geography of Canada.
· November to December we will be examining living in Canada
· January to February we will explore Canada’s North.
· March to June we will discover what it was like living in Manitoba in the past and what it is like in the present.
October to December we will be exploring sound and light.
January to March habitats and communities.
April to June rocks and minerals.
In room 10 we will be exploring all aspects of the grade 3 and 4 curriculum. Our main focus will be on 3 main areas, mental math strategies, problem solving, and building the number sense. This will occur through, small and large group activities using manipulative and the smartboard in the classroom. Students will also have one on one support in all areas of study.
Student’s will learn about a variety of artist from Vincent Van Gogh to Jackson Pollock. We will also learn about the principles of design through exploring color, shapes and lines.
