Supporting Students and Graduates

2014-12-03 15_14_49-dvd____E__ - VLC media player.jpgYou can support Elmwood High Schools efforts to support graduates or connect kids to nature by donating to:

1.       The Rick Symonds Pride In Elmwood Award – Cheque to “The Children’s Heritage Fund”  with “Rick Symonds Award – EHS” on the memo line.
This new award is to commemorate Rick Symonds’ contribution to the Elmwood Community. His pride in Elmwood and support of students was phenomenal.

2.       Connecting Kids with Nature – Cheque to “The Children’s Heritage Fund” with “Connecting Kids with Nature – EHS” on the memo line.
This supports things like the Grade 7 Camp, special opportunities for Elmwood students such as the Schools on Board and Schools on Tundra programs and Eco-Forums.

        3.   The Legacy Fund Bursaries – Cheques to “The Winnipeg Foundation” with Elmwood Legacy Fund on the memo line.

There are currently four $1000 bursaries and one $1000 scholarship created by the tremendous efforts of the Legacy Committee that was formed at the 50th Anniversary. They also support opportunities for students such as the Schools on Board program , the Schools on Tundra program and the Grade 7 Camp. The Winnipeg Foundation recognized our Legacy Committee as the strongest public school fundraising group in the province. In five years they had raised $190,000 which has established annual awards that will be given out in perpetuity. They are hoping to get to ten $1000 bursaries. They honoured Mr. Symonds by donating to the Legacy Fund in his name at the Gold level.
