Harrow Students Go for GOLD in READING!!
"I LOVE to READ' is a month long celebration that is held each year to encourage reading, writing and sharing in the joy of literacy. During the week of February 24th-28th, Harrow School is GOING for GOLD in reading!
We will begin our Olympic reading challenge with a kick off assembly on Friday, Feb. 21st at 3:00 pm in the gymnasium. During the week Harrow students will be encouraged to Go for Gold by meeting a reading challenge. Students in N/K and Grade 1 will earn a "Gold Medal" for every 3 authors they read throughout the week. Grade 2 and 3 students will earn a "Gold Medal" for every 3 books they read throughout the week. Grade 4,5 and 5 students will earn a "Gold Medal" for every 5 chapters they read throughout the week. 'Medals" will be proudly displayed on our hallway bulletin board.
In keeping with the Olympic theme, each class will also research and report of a famous Manitoba Olympian ( past or present) to be shared at our "closing ceremonies" assembly which will be held on Friday, Feb. 28th at 3:00 pm.
We are looking forward to a fun filled February! KEEP READING!!
