A Musical Adventure in the Big Apple
the Kelvin Choir was asked to audition for the opportunity to sing in Carnegie
Hall. Thrilled by the opportunity to
sing in the renowned hall in New York City, Kim Brown (choir director at Kelvin
High School) and the choir prepared a DVD for the audition. “The opportunity would be amazing, even if
only a handful of students can go,” she said excitedly.

began. There was a great response and

expected so many to come,” Brown said.

rehearsal and had the honour of working with Grammy Award winning composer
Christopher Tin, as well as the pleasure of meeting young adults from other
choirs in the United States. The choir
then performed with acclaimed artists from around the world in Carnegie Hall.
saw Matilda on Broadway, and Madama Butterfly at the Met, and
experienced other New York attractions such as the Empire State Building, the
Metropolitan Museum of Arts, and Central Park.
It was truly an experience that
will never be forgotten.
