Asia Pacific Studies in Chinatown


Asia Pacific Studies scholars in grade 9 recently travelled to Winnipeg's Chinatown district.  They took in the sights -- like  statues of Kung Fu-Tse and Pu Yi, the Garden of Meditation -- and sampled baking, banana-leaf wrapped sweet rice and soft drinks opened with the help of glass marbles. 

Students followed up their excursion with a Cultural Food Fair in room 35, with food from over a dozen Asian nations to taste and over 500 facts uncovered and shared about customs, cultures and cuisines.
