Read to Succeed
Kelvin High School celebrated the love of reading as part of
Winnipeg School Division’s Read to Succeed program. On December 16 and 17, Kelvin
students browsed the over 800 books displayed on tables in the Kelvin Library.
Students had the opportunity to take the books home to become part of their home
libraries. One student’s comment: “This book is the latest in
the series. I couldn’t afford to buy it. This is awesome!”
The program promotes reading at home with families, building
stronger communities. Studies show a child from a family rich in books is
more likely to complete university than a comparable child growing up without a
