Asia Pacific Role Play Exam
Kelvin's Asia Pacific Studies scholars took part in the 23rd annual Model United Nations style Role Play examination recently. Sixteen countries were represented by students enrolled at the Intermediate level of the program along with Senior students portraying various non-governmental organizations and the media.
The day-long event is, in fact, the examination for the course. Students contact their respective countries diplomatic missions in Ottawa or Washington, conduct research and prepare promotional posters, pamphlets and Powerpoints highlighting their countries' achievements in the topics under consideration. The 2016 edition of Kelvin's Asia-Pac role play continued a recent innovation, with the addition of four grade 10 International Baccalaureate participants, who took part in the debates in order to gain volunteer experience. Ethnic clothing and food added to the atmosphere.
