Volunteer Fair 2015

Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the community, get job experience, or connect with others with similar interests. Winnipeg has no shortage of volunteer opportunites. How do you choose? How do you know what's out there?

Career Intern Jennifer Aho arranged to have groups from various organizations set up booths in the Library to give students a chance to explore their options. The organizations included: Misericordia Hospital, The Health Sciences Centre, You Can't Spoil a Baby, Football Manitoba, Winnipeg Harvest, Kids Sports (RBC Bank), St. Amant, NEEDS (Newcomer Employment and Education Development Services), South Winnipeg Seniors Resource Council, The Children's Museum, and Art Beat Studio.

Many Kelvin students volunteer their time in charitable and socially conscious activities with school clubs and outside agencies. The Volunteer Fair gave them a greater awareness of the variety of community need.
