Together Ensemble exhibition
School year off to a global start with Together/Ensemble exhibition
École secondaire Kelvin high school was the scene of an unusual appearance at the start of the school year. A large 18-wheel tractor trailer took up residence in the field adjacent to the school for 24 hours and transformed itself into a museum of Global Development for the benefit of over 500 Kelvin scholars on the day after school re-opened. The exhibit was part of a cross-Canada tour sponsored by the federal Department of Global Affairs and the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada and Kelvin was the only high school stop during its Manitoba tour, after which the museum spent the weekend at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the University of Winnipeg. The interactive exhibits inside afforded students the chance to learn more about the challenges and success stories facing societies in the Majority World (the developing countries of the southern hemisphere, and highlighted efforts by Canadian non-governmental not-for-profit organisations in working alongside global partners to raise standards of living and education levels throughout the world.
