Medication for Students
Every year the school gets a number of requests for medication to be administered to students. In order to be able to accommodate these requests, the following must be in place:
- Medication must be prescribed by a physician and come in a container with the pharmacy label indicating the student's name. We are not permitted to administer over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, unless it has been prescribed and is labelled.
- Parents must fill out an Authorization form prior to the administration of the medication.
- The medication must come in the proper dose and/or with the necessary measuring device(s).
- The student must have been administered the first dose at home.

EPIPENS AND INHALERS
If your child has been prescribed an epipen or inhaler, please ensure that your child has the medication with him/her and that the school has been notified. In order to respond to your son’s/daughter’s health care needs, information is collected, shared with school staff and a health care plan is put into place. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
