This month, the Grade 6 students in Room 9 and Room 12 have worked hard at learning ways to conserve water. We know that water is important and we must do our part to keep it clean. It’s ours to share, and our responsibility not to waste it! Here are some of our top ways to save water.
Turn off the tap while you brush your teeth, do the dishes, and wash your hands!
Wait until your laundry loads are full before you do your laundry.
Take shorter showers and use a water conserving showerhead.
Collect water from the rain to water your garden and plants.
Don’t pollute water with waste! Send waste into the garbage or recycling bins.
Put water in a jug in a fridge. This saves you from buying ice or waiting for tap water to turn cold.
Use reusable cups and water bottles.
Don’t leave sprinklers on too long in the summer.
Use a broom to clean the driveway or sidewalk instead of a hose.
Fix leaky faucets! This can save 140 gallons of water a week!
Drop your tissue in the trash instead of the toilet.
Filter tap water instead of buying bottled water from a store.
We hope you do what you can do to fill the Earth’s bucket! Save, protect, and respect our water! Thank you!
