Classroom Program

Student participate in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, gymnastics, dance/creative movement, team/individual sports and "low-organized" games. There may be occasions when the class leaves the school, supervised by the teacher, to participate in special activities i.e. skating. The emphasis is on participation and co-operation. Students are evaluated on skill level, participation, attitude and fair play.

For reasons of safety and hygiene we would like to have students abide by the following:

a) All students are required to have a pair of non-marking runners for physical education. A separate pair left at school for physical education only would be the best.

b) Students in Grades 4-6 should have a change of clothing for each physical education class. The clothing should be placed in a plastic bag or sack and left in the school. Clothing should be taken home for cleaning when necessary then returned to school. Students require sweatpants (or shorts), T-shirt, runners and possibly a small towel.

Please remind children to bring clean runners (non-marking soles) for the days they have Phys. Ed. classes.
Do not trust a shoe labelled non-marking to not make marks, test them on the store floor.

Students in grades 4, 5, and 6, must have appropriate gym clothing for their P.E. classes. Students are to have a pair of gym shorts or gym pants and a T-shirt to change into (PLEASE NO TANK TOPS OR SPAGHETTI STRAP SHIRTS).

Grade 4, 5 and 6 students are required to change for Phys. Ed., not just wear gym clothing to school on those days. I appreciate your assistance in this.

Thank you,
I. Peters
