Winter Fun Days
Primary Nursery to Grade 3
The Nursery/Kindergarten, grade 1, 2 and 3 have a Winter Fun Day one afternoon in March. They participate in six activities including; snow relay, Inuit blanket toss, mountain building, snow painting, toboggan races and sliding. Grade 5 and 6 students lead the activities. Hot chocolate is provided to help keep the chill away afterwards.
Intermediate Grades 4 to 6
The grade 4 to 6 Winter Fun Day is held in February. All the students are mixed into four groups with students from each classroom being in each group. There are four activity stations for each group to visit which included cross country skiing, floor hockey in the gym, skating and Inuit games. The Inuit games included the Holmon Island Dog Pull, Slushing Boards and the Inuit Blanket Toss. There is also a staff versus students hockey game included in the days festivities.
