Welcome back from Spring break, we hope you were able to take advantage of the time by resting and enjoying the week with family and friends. We would like to thank all the parents for attending our Parent Teacher Conference last month. It was great having our students show off their accomplishments so far this year. The month of April will mark the beginning of spring, which means beautiful warm weather is just around the corner. Our plan going forward this term is to work on money math concepts, story board writing, positive classroom leadership qualities and a few different science concepts such as materials/structures and position/motion. A reminder to ensure that your child reads daily for at least 20mins in order to develop and maintain their reading skills. Also it would be beneficial if your child spent an extra 20mins working on Math at home. The Dreambox program allows our students to also work on their math concepts at home. It is important that all students have the opportunity to be their best and succeed in all areas.

We would like to acknowledge how well "I Love To Read Month" went in Room 8, our students have shown great progress in their reading levels. We have been busy learning about Mexico recently and we hope to test our culinary skills in the kitchen by making some cultural food from this country. We will be working on getting our portfolios ready for Student LEDs on March 17 & 18. Please let your child's teacher know what day and time works best for you. A reminder that Spring break is just around the corner and to continue to learn something new everyday.
February 2016 Newsletter
"I Love to Read" month is finally here, and we are excited to spend even more time reading this month! We will be busy participating in different activities and encouraging everyone to read. The LAC class will be offering incentives and motivators to help students show their love for reading. We are also hoping the weather cooperates so we can spend time outdoors enjoying different winter activities such as tobogganing. We have been learning about habitats and would love to venture to a park to explore a local habitat and the animals that inhabit it! The students of room 8 will also be learning all about Mexico and look forward to ending the unit off with some traditional Mexican food. Hope everyone has a great month filled with lots of reading and learning. Thanks you for reading!
