It was announced by the Province on October 30, 2020, that our community, the City of Winnipeg is going to Code Red as of Monday November 2, 2020. This meant many changes throughout the city, but not necessarily in schools. After going to a required 2 metres of social distancing in our classrooms, as announced by Public Health on October 22nd, we still had the ability to maintain the opportunity for students to attend on a daily basis. The Province has stated that blended learning is required when 2 metres of social distancing is not possible. At our school, we continue to ensure 2 metres of social distancing between students in our classrooms, and throughout the school. As a result, at RB Russell, we are not required to provide blended learning at this time.
Social distancing, regular and consistent hand washing/sanitizing, continuously wearing a mask and not touching our face, has contributed to keeping everyone safe. Thank you to students and staff for continuing to follow safety protocols. Let’s continue to practice this as well as encourage those around us to do this.
We thank everyone in advance for their continued cooperation during these times.
