Grades 5 and 6 students are Robertson’s patrols for the 2017-2018 school year. Grade 4 students will be trained in the spring.
In winter, patrols will do a normal duty schedule up to & including temperatures of -27 windchills. When the weather is colder, they will be outside for considerably shorter times. When windchills are -35 or greater, no patrols will be on duty.
- Morning squad: 8:55 a.m. – 9:05 a.m.
- Before Lunch Squad: 11:50 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.
- After Lunch Squad: 12: 40 p.m. – 12:55 p.m.
- After School: 3:20 p.m.– 3:35 p.m.
It is important that you encourage your child to leave the school yard promptly at lunch and at the end of the school day. The patrols are only on their corners for a certain amount of time and in order for them to keep all children safe, students need to cross promptly at the corners.
Intersections that are patrolled include:
- Bannerman and Robertson
- Cathedral and Robertson
- Machray and Robertson
- Church and Robertson
- Radford and Machray
Exemplary patrols are recognized at monthly assemblies, and all patrols receive 'special' activities to thank them for their service to the school community's safety: pancake breakfast, movies, bowling, roller skating at Wheelies, pizza lunch, etc.
Please direct any concerns, comments and/or compliments to Mr. Sabatini.
Robertson Grade 6 Student is 2013 Louise Staples Award Winner
Congratulations to Mackenzie T. who won the Louise Staples Award for top Patrol Captain in the City of Winnipeg. This is a very prestigious award and is the first time a Robertson School captain has won the award since 1977.
As a special bonus, Mackenzie was the guest of honor at the May 28th Goldeyes game and threw out the opening pitch. She then got to watch the game from a luxury box.
