Physical Education Program:
Sacré Coeur offers a strong Physical Education program from grades 1 to 8. Throughout the year, our students are challenged to develop their physical skills through individual, partner and small group activities, as well as through various team sports and team sport lead-ups. Our grade 1 through 5 students also receive CAP testing on their Gross Motor Skills, in order for us to design programming that meets the needs of all students.
To complement the Physical Education Program, students at the grades 4 to 8 levels have the opportunity to participate in less competitive noon hour activities. Some of the sports include: Ultimate Frisbee/ Football, Dodgeball, Indoor Soccer and lo-organized games.
Students in grades 5 to 8 also have the opportunity to participate in different competitive and developmental sports teams throughout the year including: Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field. These teams compete in the WSD1 Division and can lead our students all the way to competing in a Provincial Championships.
Extra-Curricular Fitness Activities:
Throughout the year, we also offer our students activities to promote a “Healthy Lifestyle” both individually, or with family members. Students can participate in the Terry Fox Run, Walk-A-Thon, Jump Rope for Heart, Running Club, etc...
