Lunch Program

2018-2019 Lunch Program Registration

The École Stanley Knowles Parent Council operates a user pay Lunch Program for students who are unable to go home for lunch.

The Parent Run Lunch Program is a non-profit organization and the lunch fees collected are used to pay the wages of the adult lunch supervisors who provide supervision in the classroom over the lunch hour and on the playground.

All children attending Lunch Program should come with a lunch that does not require heating and any necessary utensils. There is NO microwave available. White milk and chocolate milk are available to students at a small cost.

Students who choose not to participate in the ÉSKS Lunch Program are expected to leave the building and the school grounds over the lunch hour. There is NO supervision for students who are not part of the paid Lunch Program.

If you have any questions, please contact either Chris Plaetinck, Lunch Program Co-ordinator or Melody Ritchot, Assistant Co-ordinator at 204-694-0483 (M – F between 11:00 am & 1:00 pm).

If you are planning to use the Lunch Program for the 2018 - 2019 school year, you MUST register before June 22, 2018 to ensure that your child has a spot reserved.  Late registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis depending on available staff.

Just a quick reminder that March 22, 2019 is the last day of this year's winter lunch program for Junior High students.

If you would like your child in Junior High (Gr. 7 / 8) to continue in the Lunch Program until the end of June, please send cash pre-payment by March 15, 2019.  The winter rooms will be closed after Spring Break.

The daily drop-in program will continue, but in the classrooms only as the gym will no longer be available. The fee for drop-in is $3.00 per day.

What is your child's plan for lunch?

With the cold weather fast approaching, it becomes more important than ever that ALL Grade 7 & 8 students have a plan  for their lunch hour.

The safety and well-being of all of our students at ÉSKS is of the utmost important. Since ÉSKS does not provide any formal supervision over the lunch hour, all students in Grade 7 and Grade 8 who are not part of the paid Lunch Program or who have not paid the drop-in fee are expected to leave the building and the school grounds over the lunch hour.

This Parent Run Lunch Program is available on a full-time or drop-in basis. The cost of this program is the same as our Elementary Lunch Program and operates in a similar manner. Families can choose to pay a full-time fee of $230.00 for the entire school year or a daily drop-in fee of $3.00.  Families may also choose to have their child(ren) participate in the Lunch Program only during the cold weather months, November to the end of March, at a cost of $115.00.

Information regarding the Elementary & Junior High Lunch Program is available in the school office.
