In order to ensure staff and students are informed about what procedures to follow in case of a real emergency, schools are required to perform fire drills, evacuation drills and lockdown drills. Ten fire drills are to be performed each school year; one per month. A school 'Lockdown' was held on October 12th, 2016. A lockdown is a critical incident response that secures students and staff inside secured locations. An 'Evacuation' drill was held on October 20th, 2016 whereas the entire school evacuated to Garden Grove School. Students were told ahead of time about each drill, except for the fire drills, and behaved as true Tyndall Park kids! Each drill went smoothly and without incident. We thank the students for their cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school.
Student Drop Off Near Dumpsters
The staff at Tyndall Park want our students to be safe. In an effort to reduce pedestrian traffic in the parking lot, a designated spot for dropping off students has been identified. All Tyndall students grades 1-6 have received common area training about the drop off area. The designated area allows students to enter the playground without having to walk through the parking lot. Ask your child where the drop off area is. Hint: the dumpsters have something to do about it.
