Family Groupings 2016 2017
Family Groupings Field Day
On June 23rd, 2017, Tyndall Park students enjoyed a day of fun with their Family Groupings. Several stations were set up including a water relay race, baseball throw and a dance party station. The day was meant to get students moving and benefiting from some physical activity. A freezie treat was also given out to the students even though the weather was keeping things cool enough! Students and staff were asked to wear either red or white and ended the activities by gathering in the gym to recreate a human Canadian flag. Students had a fantastic day!

Family Grouping Fun Day
Family Groupings had an activity-packed fun day on the morning of June 9th as a closing for the year. The day was filled with fun, movement, celebration and cultural proficiency.
Groups moved from station to station, completing fun activities like skipping, hoola hooping, or any of the other recreations set up.
The morning ended with a yogurt snack and cultural performances by some of our students. Student performers included Punjabi dancers and musicians, Tinikling dancers and Aboriginal dancers. The costumes and music were wonderful to see and celebrate diversity and our family groupings!
Thank you to all our performers, staff and parents for helping with the performance!
Family Groupings September 2015-May 2016
This year's theme for Family Groupings was 'I Better My World, I Better Myself'. Groupings have been contributing in various activities that teach them about how giving back to your community in a positive way, helps to make yourself a better person.
In December, groupings collected much needed toiletries such as shampoo, toothbrushes, etc. and created 'Goodwill Bags' to donate to the Salvation Army for the less fortunate.
Grade six students acted further on the Family Groupings theme by selling 'Rafiki' bracelets made by Kenyan women. The money raised goes to provide water, food, or other necessities for villages. The students sold over $1000.00 in bracelets.
They also got involved by collecting old batteries and submitting them to a recycling facility. Nearly 700 batteries were collected! Well done to all involved!
On May 11th, students in Grades 1-6 will be participating in a school yard cleanup. Bags, t-shirts and gloves were generously donated by Take Pride Winnipeg.
Here are Family Grouping Activities for 2014.
It’s Time for a new Look.
“Once A Tyndall Park Kid….
Always A Tyndall Park Kid”
The motto still is important to our school but it is time
for a new look for our graphic. Our
focus for Family Groupings this year was “What is A Tyndall Park Kid?” As part of our June Family Grouping, we
decided it is time to revamp our school logo and have students design new
Tyndall Park Kids. Each student made
their own “Mini-Me”.
We all met in the
gym and shared our newly created Tyndall Park Kids. Each Family Group chose 2 Tyndall Park
Kids. One from grades Nursery to 3 and
another from grades 4 to 6.
These “kids” move on to the next level of judging and may be selected to be on our new
logo. All Tyndall Park Kids were hung around the school.
Keep watching this page for our new logo.
