 Field Day 2013

Fun games and a spirit of cooperation helped make our field day a huge success.  Thanks to Mr. Lourenzo and all who helped make the day so much fun!

Marathon Running Club ...Mrs. Thomson, Ms. Roth, Mr. Lourenzo

Our students are now just beginning to get into shape in preparation for the “Super Run” at the Manitoba Marathon on Father’s Day (June 16th).   Our students in grades 3-6 can be seen training three mornings each week beginning at 8:00.

Coaches: Mr. Lourenzo, Ms. Galicia, Ms. Roth, Mrs. Thomson

Basketball Hotshots

This year’s basketball hotshots finalists were  Maria, Trixie, Jhean, Michael, Edward, Dee, and Jamon.   Edward and Dee moved on to the Staff/Student final, along with Trixie, Maria and Jhean.  The winners of the contest will be in next month’s school bulletin.  Congratulations to all the students who gave hotshots a try.

Dressing For Phys. Ed.

Now that warm weather is here, many of our students will be wearing sandals and flip flops to school.  It is important for students to have their running shoes available to wear in phys. Ed. classes because it is not safe to wear sandals or flip flops in phys. ed.  Clean shorts and t-shirts are also necessary items to wear in the gym.

Jump Rope Club….Mrs. Thomson, Mr. Lourenzo

The École Victoria Albert School Jump Rope Club will soon begin action for students who want to learn how to jump single rope, long rope, and double dutch!  We will learn and practice in the gym during the lunch hour and then practice some more at recess to really improve our rope jumping!

Inter-school Ultimate Football….Mr. Lourenzo

Once our school playground dries up, our grade 4-6 students will be out on the field practicing and refining their ultimate football skills.  This is a non-contact football game with a soft football and lots of running and catching action.   Our school team will be playing against other schools at the end of May.
