The grade 1 French Immersion students are using the garden as an outdoor classroom! They are sketching and labelling and taking time to notice all the changes around them.
Garden Planting Day
Gordon Sanguin, our garden master came to school to teach the students all about how to plant everything from annual tomato plants to butterfly attracting perennials. The students wondered about composting and fertilizer and insecticides. It was a great learning conversation and then we all headed out to plant our raised bed gardens. Keep an eye our for tomatoes at the end of July.
Community Gardening Day 2013
We had many volunteers from the staff and students, community members and the crew from Telus: Give Where You Live Campaign. Thanks very much to Telus who supported the school with their time and tools to get the job done. Please come past the school to see the clean garden beds and the various plants growing in the garden boxes.
