Kindergarten Full Day

A Full Day in Kindergarten

The Full Day Kindergarten program provides students with the opportunity to explore and learn throughout the entire school day. Attendance is valued in this program. We practice routines, learn as a whole group, have inquiry projects and small group instruction. The students then exercise and explore ideas taught through hands-on activity centres.

The purpose of a full day Kindergarten is to provide an enriched environment in which to enhance children’s overall social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.

A full day kindergarten offers more exposure and experiences of different activities or extended experience in the computer lab, special events, field trips, gym and music time, school assemblies, etc.

The extended day of Kindergarten provides opportunities to allow more time for play based exploration and the development of inquiry projects.

Teachers demonstrate a knowledge of child development and pedagogy and developmentally appropriately practices. The program provides a balance between adult guided and child initiated activities. Teachers program using the emergent curriculum practices, play based learning and inquiry projects.
