Bienvenue à l'École Sir William Osler! Welcome to École Sir William Osler! We are a small and creative French Immersion school, with a big heart!
In September of 2016, École Sir William Osler officially re-opened and we welcomed French Immersion students in Nursery to Grade 2. Other grades will be added annually.
For the 2017-2018 school year, École Sir William Osler will offer the French Immersion program for children in Nursery to Grade 3.
École Sir William Osler is a small, community-oriented school, with approximately 90 Nursery to Grade 3 French Immersion students.
Our school is a French Immersion Milieu which means that the French Immersion program is the only program offered at our school. We follow the provincial French Immersion curriculum as laid out by Manitoba Education. All students learn their subject material in the French language. Beginning in grade one, our students have a daily one hour English Language Arts class. We guide students to understand, speak, read, write and communicate effectively in both official Canadian languages!
Families do not need to speak French at home to enroll their children in our French Immersion school. Communication with families is in English. Interpreters may be requested if families are more comfortable communicating in another language.
École Sir William Osler is located in the Winnipeg School Division and serves the community bounded by Wilkes Avenue on the south, Edgeland Road on the west, the Assiniboine River on the north and Cambridge Street on the east.
Please see the catchment area map for details on our catchment.

École Sir William Osler acknowledges that we are on Treaty One land, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Cree, and Dakota peoples and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
At École Sir William Osler, we have partnered with the YMCA/YWCA Childcare to offer half day Nursery and Kindergarten Care, and Before and After School Care for our older students.
We consider the parents of our students to be partners in the learning process. You are your child's first teacher. We value strong communication between home and school. Together, we will support our children to develop strong decision-making abilities and life-long learning skills.
If you would like to visit our school, please call us at 204-488-3569. I look forward to personallymeeting all students and families.
I would like to say how honoured I feel to be part of this exciting initiative. Together, we are building a new and vibrant French Immersion school community at École Sir William Osler.
