Bienvenue à l'École Sir William Osler! Welcome to École Sir William Osler! We are a small and creative French Immersion school, with a big heart!
On Wednesday, January 25, 2017, École Sir William Osler hosted our Portes Ouvertes/Open House. If you were unable to attend, please contact Mme Loveridge, Principal, and book a time to come to see for yourselves what makes École Sir William Osler such a special learning place!
For the 2017-2018 school year, École Sir William Osler will offer the French Immersion program for children in Nursery to Grade 3.
In the fall of 2016, we were excited to announce the re-opening of École Sir William Osler! In September 2015, we opened our doors to families as a second site to students at École LaVérendrye, which was undergoing renovations. In September of 2016, we re-opened as our own school and welcomed French Immersion students in Nursery to Grade 2. Other grades will be added annually.
Our school is a French Immersion Milieu which means that the French Immersion program is the only program offered at our school. We follow the provincial French Immersion curriculum as laid out by Manitoba Education. All students learn their subject material in the French language. Beginning in grade one, students have a daily one hour English Language Arts class. We guide students to understand, speak, read, write and communicate effectively in both official Canadian languages!
Families do not need to speak French at home to enroll their children in our French Immersion school. Communication with families is in English. Interpreters may be available if families are more comfortable communicating in another language.
Please see the catchment area map for details on our catchment.

At École Sir William Osler, we have partnered with the YMCA/YWCA Childcare to offer half day Nursery and Kindergarten care, and Before and After School Care for our older students.
We value community support and volunteers are always welcome! Our parents run our school lunch program in the school.
If you would like to come to visit our wonderful school, please call us at 204-488-3569. I look forward to personally meeting all students and families.
I would like to say how honoured I feel to be part of this exciting initiative. Together, we are building a new and vibrant French Immersion school community at École Sir William Osler.
