Job Yellowhead Award

Job Yellowhead was a status Native Canadian who had a fierce pride in his culture, a strong aboriginal identity, a rapier wit and an enormous love for all people.
A junior high award was created in his name in 1991. Each year two students from Isaac Newton Junior High School receive the annual award. Chosen by the staff and principal of the school, the following criteria form the basis of these awards:
1. Need
2. Academic achievement
3. Perseverance
4. Social awareness/Conscience/Leadership/Citizenship
