Registering Your Child for School

Online student registration for the 2025/26 academic year is on hold for the summer. 

Registrations will resume the week of August 18 once school offices reopen. Contact the school office for registration information.

What school should my child attend?
To determine the school that serves your home address, use our Find A School app. Enter your address and click on the map to see your child's designated catchment schools for early, middle or senior years, as well as schools your child can attend for division-wide programming, such as language programs.

Why is it important for my child to attend a catchment area school?
Attending catchment area schools is beneficial because:

• Children can walk or bike to school and stay with neighbourhood peers.
• It ensures all WSD schools maintain healthy programs and diverse offerings.
• It supports small class sizes for better learning environments. 
• Schools receive funding based on their catchment area.
• It helps avoid extra expenses and resource strain.
  

Can my child attend a school outside our catchment area?
Yes, you can apply for a School of Choice, but acceptance is not guaranteed. WSD considers a school's enrolment numbers and available resources before accepting School of Choice students. The province of Manitoba's Education and Early Childhood Learning guidelines state that student acceptance into a school is prioritized in the following order: catchment area students, students applying from within the division, and then students applying from outside of the division.
