Student Registration
January 30, 2026
Registering Your Child for School
Current students attending the same school next year do not need to re-register.
Current students transferring to a new designated catchment school for Middle Years or Senior Years are automatically enrolled. Families do not need to re-register.
Current students who live within division boundaries and wish to transfer schools to participate in a division-wide program, for example vocational programs at Tec Voc High School, must re-register as a new student, indicating the new chosen school. These families do not complete a Schools of Choice application.
Important Dates:
- February 17 - New Student registration opens at 9 a.m.
- April 6 - Schools of Choice application opens at 9 a.m.
- May 15 - Schools of Choice application closes at 4 p.m.
Links for online New Student registration will be available on February 17. Links for online Schools of Choice application will be available on April 6.
Registering a new student
Confirm your child’s designated catchment school using Find A School App. Enter your home address to see your designated catchment schools for Early, Middle or Senior years, as well as schools your child can attend for division-wide programming, such as vocational and language programs.
Registering at a designated catchment school
New students must complete the New Student registration form. For accommodation purposes, families can register in person at their catchment school's office. Bring all the required documents for registration.
Applying for Schools of Choice
A student must be enrolled at their designated catchment school before applying for Schools of Choice. Schools of Choice applications are approved by the division's Superintendents’ Department. Application does not guarantee enrolment at a Schools of Choice.
WSD may decline Schools of Choice applications due to capacity constraints. For the 2026/27, WSD is not accepting Schools of Choice applications for the following schools (extenuating family circumstances related to childcare or siblings may be considered):
École Secondaire Sisler High School
École Secondaire Kelvin High School
École River Heights School
École Lansdowne School
École Waterford Springs School
Brock Corydon School (English program)
Fort Rouge School
