Hello from Ms. Melnyk and Mr. Bruni, the Machray School Learning Support Resource Team! We help to support students, classrooms, families and student groups at Machray School. The resource team helps families transition into Machray for the first time or when students are moving schools. We work with parents to help create goals for our students with exceptional learning needs and we help to support these students to meet these goals in and out of the classroom. You can often find us supporting learning in classrooms, working with small groups in the library or helping with movement breaks in the Sensory Room. Our goal is to ensure that each student at Machray is able to grow and see themselves as a learner during their time with us.

The Resource team is also one of the school's contacts for WSD's Student-Centred Services (Speech and Language, Clinical Reading, Social Work and School Psychology) as well as the contact for SSCY's Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy outreach. Hello from Mrs. Michalski and Mrs. Mackenzie! As Learning Support Teachers, we’re here to help students not only with their learning, but also with their social and emotional growth. Our role is to support students in building the tools they need to manage their feelings, solve problems, and connect positively with others. Whether it’s practicing calming strategies, learning how to handle frustration, or finding ways to work well with peers, we aim to focus on skills that make a big difference in everyday life. We want every child at Machray to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn!
