Science Scuba Diving

February 8, 2021

Kelvin Chemistry students had a wonderful time studying science—UNDER WATER!! After learning the basics of scuba diving, they spent the afternoon exploring friction, hydrodynamic drag, and water pressure. What a great way to reinforce the Gas Laws by experiencing Boyle’s Law and the effect of pressure on the volume of a gas first-hand. Some of the students were even able to blow up balloons while standing at the bottom of the pool. The scuba lessons and science activities were led by Jacqui and her team from Diver City Scuba.
