Holodomor Memorial Day
November 18, 2025 Announcement, Important Date
Holodomor Memorial Day is commemorated each year on the fourth Saturday as a day of remembrance for the millions of Ukrainians, many of whom were children, who were forced into starvation and died from hunger in 1932 and 1933 under the brutal policies and deliberate acts of the Soviet regime.
The Government of Canada recognizes the Holodomor as an act of genocide, and together with the descendants of survivors living in Canada, we remember the victims of the Holodomor.
