February is short, but oh so sweet!
In February, we celebrate I Love to Read Month, Black History Month, 100 Day, Lunar New Year, Ramadan, Valentine's Day and Freedom to Read week! I have some beautiful displays for each of these events in the library this month, so please come and check them out!
For I love to read, I have a few activities for you to enjoy!
Our February bulletin board is an interactive one. grab one of our paper hearts and write down something you love and I will staple it on the bulletin board to share with everyone! By the end of the month, we will have a board full of positivity and love to make us smile!
I have created a reading challenge with 12 different reading activities to complete in the month. When you have finished, bring your completed sheet to the library and exchange it for a treat!
Lastly, our Design a bookmark contest is back! Grab an entry form in the library. There will be one winner chosen from each grade from 1 to 6.
Lots of fun and great reading to be had this month Kodiaks! I love seeing you all in the library so pop on by anytime!
With over 6000 books in our collection, there is something for everyone. Once a cycle, students come with their classes to read a story, have a discussion, and exchange their books. Students can keep their books for one school cycle and then exchange them for new ones.
Outside of their scheduled library time, students are always welcome to come to the library to work, take a break, or exchange their books if it is okay with their classroom teacher.
