Anti Bullying Club (ABC)

A group of students in Grade 7 and 8 have formed an Anti Bullying Club (ABC) to develop awareness about bullying and provide students with strategies to deal with bullying.

Day of Pink

April 10th proved to be a very positive day!  Shaughnessy Park School participated in DAY of PINK.  There were more than 350 schools throughout Manitoba participating and over 17,500 people wearing pink shirts to stand up for respect and bring awareness to the impact of bullying.  Thank you to our ABC students who planned a Day of Pink assembly with a great Power Point Presentation.

It’s Cool to be Kind

On Tuesday May 28th, students were asked to pay special attention to how respectfully they treated each other.  Grades 1-4 brainstormed kind words and actions, and then labeled little shoes which were used to decorate our kindness tree.  The tree was placed near the office, to be viewed by everyone!

Grades 5-8 welcomed guest speaker RACHAEL ASHLEY who entertained us with song and shared her story about bullying.  Her Anti-Bullying message helped us remember to treat each other with kindness and to speak up and stand up against bullies.

Every student was given a pink “Be An Upstander” wristband as a reminder that we stand up for each other at Shaughnessy Park and treat each other with kindness.
