Remembering Dr. Heshka

On the morning of Thursday, March 26^th, 2021, Sisler High School was informed by a family member that our long-time principal, Dr. George Heshka, had passed away. It is important to know that he was surrounded by his family at this time.

Dr. Heshka dedicated over 40 years to the Winnipeg School Division and will be missed. His work at Sisler High School expands through generations of north end families, and has left a lasting impact on the community. Throughout his career he was passionate about local initiatives and prided himself on the quality education students of Sisler received. Dr. Heshka received an Honorary Doctor of Letters for his dedication and commitment to his students and his community.

At this time, we do not have any information as of yet about Dr. Heshka’s memorial service.

Sisler High School mourns the loss of our long time administrator and colleague, his impact will never be forgotten.
