Carole Vivier Scholarship

April 8, 2021
Sisler High School Create Program Carole Vivier Scholarship

The Carole Vivier Scholarship for Women in Film is awarded to a female or non-binary graduate of Sisler High School’s CREATE program each year.

The scholarship was set up in 2019 upon the retirement of Manitoba Film & Music’s CEO Carole Vivier, following her 30-year career at the Crown Corporation. During her time as CEO, Vivier heralded the growth of our province’s internationally renowned film and music industries.

Past scholarship recipients include:

Chantal Philipot (2019)

As a students in the Sisler CREATE post-high program Chantal contributed animation to the short film ‘Cops and Robbers’ which later made the Academy Award long list. She is currently doing concept art/character designs for a new local TV show and illustrations for two separate children’s books.

Aaron Raymundo (2020)

Upon graduating the Sisler CREATE program, Aaron went on to pursue their post-secondary studies at Vancouver Film School in Classical Animation.

Donations can be made to Winnipeg School Division’s Children’s Heritage Fund in return for a tax receipt. The Children’s Heritage Fund will transfer all donations directly to the school when the scholarship is awarded.
